I've watched the light.

I’ve watched the light go out of your eyes
The bright glimmer fade into the cavernous deep
Deep green gems, washed pale blue by pools

Your eyelashes are wet with the tears of your grief
Spill over onto your pale beauty of hope
Smearing darkness into your cheeks

Your brow furrowed and etched in pain
Words cut like a knife into your chest
And hollow out your insides

I see your pain and watch your despair
It cloaks you in its depths
And covers your brightness with its shadow

I know how much you hurt inside
How you howl within the emptiness
In the confines of your mind

I wish you to feel peace again
To sleep with the knowing of rest
And wake with the hope of the dawn

I want you to smile again and feel joy in your heart
To let love in again, into your heart and mind
And release the guilt into the light

I know you can laugh again, a true laugh
A laugh that forgets you are sad
And shows you the way back to your heart

Look into my eyes and see how much love I have for you
Know that love is true, for it comes from you
And from your loved ones all around

I love you and will help you heal
With patience and kindness
I will watch over you while you find your way

Come closer in the mirror and feel my words
Let the light back into your life
Please love yourself again, as I love you

For I am you
And the person I see in the mirror
Is me.

if i was a memory. (FOR my loved ones)

If I was a memory, what would I be
A song for you to dance to, be wild and be free,

If I was a memory, what melody would relay
Within your head, where the tune could stay,

If I was a memory, what part would I play
In your story of greatness, I’d be just a day,

If I was a memory, what line would help you know
That I was here and love you, and all of your woes,

If I was a memory, how would I sound
In your life that is full, where love echoes and bounds,

If I was a memory, I’d live in your heart
And then we’d be one, and would never part.

We will do what is right.

We will stand together, in love, in compassion
For our sins we weep, and ask forgiveness
We hold steadfast to the truth
For we are love.

No matter what is said, we hold our truth
In our breast, in our soul
We know what we must do
And we do not fear it
For we are love.

We hold the hands of all our loved ones
They are our very existence
Fear does not exist, it is futile
Between us, as we hold the truth of love
For we are love.

No words can break this pact
It was forged before we were even born
An agreement we would seed in blood
No destructive force can barter truth
For we are love.

As a phoenix we rise in the flames
Unburnt, and unafraid
We hold our loved ones dear
We do not bow to evil, but to truth
For we are love.

So comes the night time of the brave
Where truth becomes its maker made
We shall not bend nor break
And we hold the truth like a shimmering blade
For we are love.

It always helps me to express my thoughts and feelings by writing. These offerings aren't necessarily connected with any one thing, although some relate to grief and loss.  Some also relate to love, joy and some are just downright daft.
